Hairy was sunning on our kitchen walkway in late April, 2009. Rocky noticed him there. Rocky does not really like spiders, but it seemed the thing to do, so we offered Hairy an home in a lovely terrarium, and have been supplying him with delicious crickets and other dainties. He seems content enough. Rocky says Hairy is planning a family. We may have to change Hairy's name. As per the advice in the Tarantula book, we eliminated the cedar shavings, and replaced them with soil and nice big pieces of bark and fallen tree limbs. So far, so good
